The Indian Army has invited applications for Agniveer recruitment under the Agnipath scheme, with the notification released on 18 June 2022. Since the recruitment is conducted rally wise across the country, both the application opening and the last date to apply follow each rally's own schedule rather than a single common date.
There is no application fee for General, OBC, EWS, SC or ST candidates. The age limit is 17.5 to 23 years. Candidates must be residents of the district covered by the rally centre they are applying to, and the educational qualification required is Class 8th, 10th or 12th depending on the specific post. The physical standards for Group I posts include a 1.6 kilometre run in 5 minutes 30 seconds for 60 marks, 10 pull ups for 40 marks, and a 9 feet ditch and zigzag balance test. Rally dates and centres are spread widely, for instance the Amethi and Varanasi centres in Uttar Pradesh run from 16 November to 6 December 2022, the Lucknow centre from 20 October to 10 November 2022, and other centres across Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, the northeast and southern states through the second half of 2022.
Candidates should identify the rally centre for their home district from the list in the notification and apply within that centre's specific window, since missing the local schedule means waiting for the next round at that centre.
