The Department of Posts has released the 4th merit list for its Gramin Dak Sewak, GDS, recruitment 2023, which covers 40889 vacancies across states. This is one of the largest recruitment drives under India Post, and results are being issued state wise.
Applications had opened on 27 January 2023 and closed on 16 February 2023, with a correction window from 17 to 19 February 2023. The merit lists were released in stages, with the first list on 11 March 2023, the second on 11 April 2023, the third on 13 May 2023, and the fourth on 6 June 2023. The fee was 100 rupees for General and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, PH candidates and all female candidates were exempted, payable through an India Post e-challan at the nearest head post office or GPO. The minimum age is 18 years and the maximum is 40 years. Eligibility requires passing Class 10 with Mathematics and English, along with knowledge of the local language, since posts are distributed state wise, such as 7987 in Uttar Pradesh, 3167 in Tamil Nadu, 3036 in Karnataka, and 2508 in Maharashtra, among others.
