The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the written exam result for the Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Examination 2026, covering 44 posts in all. Of these, 16 posts are for IES and 28 for ISS.
The online application process ran from 11 February 2026 to 3 March 2026, up to 6 pm, with the fee payment window closing on the same date. The written exam was held on 19 June 2026, after the admit card was made available on 13 June 2026. UPSC released the ISS answer key on 24 June 2026, and the result followed on 4 August 2026. The application fee was 200 rupees for General, EWS and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, PH candidates and female candidates in all categories did not have to pay. Candidates needed to be between 21 and 30 years old. For IES, a postgraduate or master's degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics or Econometrics is required, while ISS asks for a bachelor's degree with statistics as a subject or a master's degree in statistics or a related field.
