The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board has invited applications for its combined NET, ARS, SMS and STO examination 2025, which covers eligibility testing as well as recruitment to scientist and specialist posts. Among the posts listed, 41 vacancies are for Subject Matter Specialist, open to candidates holding a master's degree in the concerned subject, with subject-wise eligibility details spelt out in the notification.
Applications opened on 22 April 2025 and were to be submitted by 5 June 2025, with the exam fee payable by the same date. The preliminary exam is scheduled for 2 to 4 September 2025, with the admit card to be issued before the exam, and the mains exam for ARS, SMS and STO candidates is set for 7 December 2025.
The fee structure differs by post and category: for NET alone it is 1000 rupees for unreserved candidates, 500 rupees for EWS and OBC, and 250 rupees for SC, ST and women, while for ARS, SMS and STO posts it is 1000 rupees for unreserved, 800 rupees for EWS and OBC, and free for SC, ST and women. Candidates applying for NET along with any combination of ARS, SMS or STO pay 2000, 1300 or 250 rupees depending on category. The minimum age for NET is 21 years as on 1 January 2025, and the maximum age is 32 years for ARS and 35 years for SMS and STO posts. Fees can be paid via debit card, credit card, net banking or e-challan.
