The State Health Society, Bihar, SHS, has invited applications for the post of Community Health Officer, CHO, with a large 4500 vacancies on offer across the state. This is one of the bigger state-level health recruitment drives currently open.
The application process began on 5 May 2025 and will close on 26 May 2025 up to 6 PM, which is also the last date to pay the exam fee. The exam date will be announced as per schedule, and the admit card will be notified soon. The application fee is 500 rupees for General, OBC and EWS candidates, and 125 rupees for SC, ST, PH candidates and women of all categories, payable through debit card, credit card or net banking. The age limit for this post is set between 21 and 42 years.
To be eligible, candidates need a B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing degree along with a CCH course, or a General Nurse and Midwifery, GNM, qualification with a certificate course in community health, or a B.Sc Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc Nursing degree with a certificate course in community health. Given the scale of vacancies, candidates meeting any of these nursing qualifications should apply before the closing date.
