The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC), under Advertisement No. 09/2026, has invited applications for the post of Police Sub-Inspector (General Closed Cadre) in the Special Branch under the Home (Police) Department, Government of Bihar, with 150 vacancies on offer.
Applications opened on 9 July 2026 and close on 9 August 2026, also the last date to pay the exam fee; the exam date will follow a separate schedule, with the admit card released before it. The fee is 100 rupees across General, BC, other-state, SC, ST, PH and female (Bihar domicile) candidates, payable online or offline. Candidates must be at least 20 years old, with a maximum age of 37 for men and 40 for women, plus extra age relaxation as specified in the advertisement. Of the 150 posts, 60 go to the unreserved category, 27 to EBC, 24 to SC, 18 to BC, 15 to EWS, 4 to BC women and 2 to ST.
Eligibility calls for a bachelor's degree from a recognised university, along with physical standards: height of 165 cm for men and 155 cm for women, chest of 81 to 86 cm for men, and a run of 1.6 km in 6 minutes 30 seconds for men or 1 km in 6 minutes for women, with further PET details in the notification.
