The Central Power Research Institute has invited applications for various posts under Advt 01/2023, with 99 vacancies on offer, and has since issued a notice postponing the scheduled exam. Candidates who applied for these technical and scientific roles should note the change in exam date.
Online applications opened on 25 March 2023 and closed on 14 April 2023 up to 5 PM, with the fee payable by the same date through debit card, credit card or net banking only. The fee for the Technician and Assistant Grade II posts was 500 rupees for General, OBC and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, PH candidates and all female candidates across categories were exempted; for other posts the fee was 1000 rupees for General, OBC and EWS, again free for SC, ST, PH and female candidates. The exam was originally set for 23 April 2023 but has been postponed, and the admit card is to be issued before the exam. Age limits vary by post, running up to 28 to 35 years. The vacancies span Electrical Engineering Officer Grade 1 (22 posts), Scientific Assistant (4 posts), Electrical Engineering Assistant (6 posts), Technician Grade I (24 posts) and Assistant Grade II (18 posts), each with its own qualification requirement such as a BE or B.Tech with a valid GATE score, a B.Sc in Chemistry with five years of experience, or an ITI certificate in the electrical trade.
Candidates should keep checking the official notice for the revised exam date and download the admit card only once it is issued before the rescheduled exam.
