The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) system, through IIT Kanpur, has invited applications for 85 posts spread across a wide mix of technical, administrative and academic roles. The list ranges from Junior Assistant and Junior Technician to Junior Engineer (Civil), Medical Officer, Assistant Registrar, Deputy Registrar and even Registrar, so the qualifications needed differ quite a bit from one post to another.
Online applications opened on 15 September 2023 and the last date to apply, along with paying the exam fee, is 16 October 2023 up to 5 PM. The fee is set post-group wise: General, OBC and EWS candidates pay 1000 rupees for Group A posts and 700 rupees for Group B and C posts, while SC, ST and PH candidates pay 500 rupees or nothing at all depending on the group, and women across all categories are exempt. The overall age band runs from 21 to 57 years, though the exact limit changes by post, for instance 21 to 30 years for Junior Assistant and Junior Technician, and up to 45 or even 57 years for senior posts like Medical Officer and Registrar.
Given how many different posts and eligibility criteria are bundled into this one notification, candidates should check the requirement for their specific post carefully, since qualifications range from a plain bachelor's degree to specialised postgraduate degrees with years of teaching or professional experience. The admit card will be issued before the exam, whose date will follow a separate schedule.
