The Indian Space Research Organisation's Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has invited applications for 16 posts of Assistant, Driver, Fireman and Cook. This is a central recruitment drive covering a mix of technical and support roles at the space centre.
Online applications began on 1 April 2025 and had to be submitted by 15 April 2025 up to 5 PM, which was also the last date to pay the exam fee. The exam date will be announced as per schedule. The fee is 500 rupees for all categories, including UR, OBC, EWS, SC, ST, PH and female candidates, but it is refundable, with UR, OBC and EWS candidates getting 400 rupees back and other categories getting a full refund, though only those who actually appear for the exam or interview get the amount returned. Age limits vary by post, with a minimum of 18 years and a maximum ranging from 25 to 35 years.
Five posts are on offer: two for Assistant (Rajbhasha), needing a bachelor's degree and Hindi typing at 25 words per minute; five each for Light Vehicle Driver-A and Heavy Vehicle Driver-A, requiring a Class 10th pass with a valid driving licence and prior driving experience; three for Fireman, needing a Class 10th pass and a physical test; and one for Cook, needing five years of cooking experience.
