The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has invited applications under CEN 02/2026 for Technician posts, with 6557 vacancies on offer, including 323 for Technician Grade 1 Signal and 6234 for Technician Grade 3 Open Line.
Online applications opened on 30 June 2026 and close on 29 July 2026, which is also the last date to pay the exam fee. The fee is 500 rupees for General, OBC and EWS candidates and 250 rupees for SC, ST and PH candidates, with a partial refund of 400 rupees for UR, OBC and EWS candidates and 250 rupees for SC, ST, PH and female candidates after appearing in the Stage I exam. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with a maximum age of 30 years for Technician Grade III and 33 years for Technician Grade I Signal. The Technician Grade 1 Signal post requires a bachelor's degree in science with subjects like Physics, Electronics, Computer Science or Instrumentation, or an equivalent engineering diploma, while the Technician Grade 3 post needs a Class 10th pass with an ITI certificate in a related trade.
The exam date will be announced as per schedule, with the exam city intimation coming 10 days before the exam and the admit card following 4 days before, so candidates should track the RRB website closer to the exam.
