The Sashastra Seema Bal, SSB, has invited applications for Head Constable posts under its 2026 recruitment, with 233 vacancies on offer.
Online registration opened on 21 March 2026 and will close on 4 May 2026, which is also the last date for fee payment. The fee is 100 rupees for General, OBC and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, PH (Divyang) candidates and women of all categories are exempt. Candidates must be at least 18 years old; the upper age limit is 25 years for Head Constable (Electrician) and 27 years for the Steward, Communication and Veterinary posts. The 233 posts include 2 for Head Constable (Steward), requiring Class 12 with a diploma in Catering and Kitchen Management plus a year of experience as a steward in a hospital with at least 100 beds; 197 for Head Constable (Communication), requiring Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths along with a diploma in Electronics, Communications, Computer Science or IT; 29 for Head Constable (Electrician), requiring Class 10 with an ITI or diploma in the trade and two years of experience; and 5 for Head Constable (Veterinary), requiring Class 12 with Science or Biology along with a diploma in Veterinary and Livestock Development.
