SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Recruitment 2026 Exam Date for 731 Post

The Staff Selection Commission has invited applications for Stenographer Grade C and Grade D posts through its 2026 recruitment, covering 731 vacancies. Online applications open on 24 April 2026 and close on 15 May 2026 at 11 PM, the exam fee is payable till 16 May 2026, and a correction window follows on 20 and 21 May 2026.

The computer based exam is scheduled for 9 to 12 September 2026, followed by a skill test as per schedule. Candidates need to have passed Class 12 from a recognised board, and the skill test requires transcription within 50 minutes in English and 65 minutes in Hindi for Grade D, or 40 minutes in English and 55 minutes in Hindi for Grade C. The fee is 100 rupees for General, OBC and EWS candidates, while SC, ST candidates and women across categories are exempted, and a correction costs 200 rupees the first time and 500 rupees the second time. The age limit is 18 to 27 years for Grade D and 18 to 30 years for Grade C.

Candidates should check which grade they qualify for based on the transcription speed requirement before applying, since the two grades carry different age limits and skill test timings.
