The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) ran a recruitment drive for 1473 Lecturer posts in Government Inter Colleges (GIC and GGIC), with 991 of these posts being the main Lecturer category, open to candidates holding a master's degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university. The recruitment covered subjects including Hindi, English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Economics, Civics, Geography, History, Sociology, Education, Urdu, Commerce and Home Science.
Applications opened on 22 December 2020 and closed on 18 January 2021, with the exam fee due by the same date and the completed form to be submitted by 22 January 2021. The written exam was conducted on 19 September 2021, the answer key followed on 6 October 2021, and the result was declared on 9 December 2021. The final result was then announced twice more, on 8 June 2022 and again on 16 June 2022. The fee was 125 rupees for General, EWS and OBC candidates, 65 rupees for SC and ST candidates and 25 rupees for PH candidates, with the eligible age band set at 21 to 40 years.
