The Union Public Service Commission has declared the Mains result for the Combined Geo Scientist Examination 2026, with 85 posts covered under this recruitment cycle. The examination covers roles across Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist, Scientist B and Assistant categories.
The process began with applications opening on 3 September 2025 and closing on 23 September 2025, with the fee payment deadline also set for 23 September 2025. The Preliminary exam was held on 8 February 2026 after the admit card was released on 31 January 2026, and the Preliminary result came out on 2 March 2026. The Mains admit card followed on 13 June 2026, and the Mains result has now been made available on 20 July 2026. The application fee was 200 rupees for General and OBC candidates, while SC, ST, PH candidates and all female candidates were exempted from paying any fee. Among the 85 posts, Geologist Group A carries 39 vacancies, Chemist Group A has 15, the Assistant post covering Hydrogeology, Chemist and Geophysicist roles has 21, Scientist B has 8, and Geophysicist Group A has 2.
