The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for 828 posts of Principal and Vice Principal, a central-level recruitment open to candidates with the required qualification and experience.
Applications opened on 25 July 2026 and closed on 17 August 2026 by 6 PM, with the exam fee also due by the same date through online or offline mode. The pen and paper based exam is scheduled for 1 November 2026, and the admit card will be released before the exam. The fee is 25 rupees for General, OBC and EWS candidates and free for SC, ST and PH candidates. The upper age limit is 50 years for Principal and 35 years for Vice Principal.
Of the total vacancies, 124 are for Principal, requiring a master's degree with 10 years of experience, and 704 are for Vice Principal, requiring a master's degree along with 2 years as a PGT teacher or 3 years as a TGT teacher.
