Grade thresholds differ between universities and sometimes between departments. Use the percentage as the real figure and treat the letter as indicative.

About this tool

A course grade is a weighted average: internals might be worth 30%, a mid-semester 20% and the final 50%. Enter each component with its weight and score and the calculator gives you the running total, the letter grade, and how much weight is still unmarked.

The target planner answers the question that actually matters mid-semester: given what you have scored so far, what do you need in the remaining components to land on the grade you want. If the required score is above 100, it says so instead of quietly reporting an impossible number.

Frequently asked questions

›What if my weights do not add up to 100?

The calculator scores you on the weight completed so far and shows the remaining weight separately, so a partially graded course still gives a meaningful running average.

›Which grading scale is used?

The default is the common Indian ten-point scale (O, A+, A, B+, B, C, P, F). Thresholds vary by university, so treat the letter as indicative and the percentage as the real number.

›Can I plan for a minimum pass mark?

Yes, set your target to the pass percentage and the planner shows the minimum you need in the remaining components.
