Attendance Percentage Calculator

Check your attendance %, or how many classes you can miss and stay above the cutoff

Most universities and service-selection training academies set this at 75%.

Fill in your attended and total class counts to see the result.

This assumes every remaining class is actually held and, in the recovery case, that you attend every single one, since a missed class along the way pushes the number higher. Some institutes count attendance per subject rather than overall; check which one your notice refers to.

About this tool

Most colleges, universities and training academies set a minimum attendance requirement, commonly 75%, before a student is allowed to sit the final exam. This tool runs the three questions that come up around that rule: what is my percentage right now, how many classes can I still afford to miss, and if I have already fallen short, how many classes in a row do I need to attend to climb back above the line.

The maths behind the last two questions is simple but easy to get wrong by hand, since both the numerator and the denominator change together as more classes are held, so this tool solves for the exact number rather than estimating.

Frequently asked questions

›Is the required percentage always 75%?

75% is the most common threshold in Indian universities and central training academies, but some institutes set 65%, 80% or a subject-wise minimum. Use the figure printed in your institute's academic regulations.

›Does this account for medical or condoned leave?

No, it works purely off the attended/total figures you enter. If your institute condones a certain number of absences separately, apply that adjustment yourself before or after using the result.

›Why does 'classes I can still miss' assume future classes are held?

Because that's the worst case for your percentage: every class you don't attend still increases the total, which is what pulls the percentage down. If some future classes are cancelled, you can afford to miss fewer than the number shown.
